Takauji Ashikaga founded 'Tenryuji Temple' the head temple of Tenryuji temple school of Rinzai sect to solace the spirit of Emperor Go-Daigo. It has been the supureme temple of Kyoto Gozan System in Muromachi period. 'Sogen Pond Garden' is a famous garden which is the first historic site / special scenic spot of Japan.
